Gustav Klimt was an Austrian symbolist painter who spent a full YEAR working on this piece (1908-1909) which was heavily influenced by the contemporary Art Nouveau style and the earlier Arts and Crafts Movement. The oil painting depicts a couple embracing, with their bodies almost entwined as one. Pretty romantic, hey?
